Diet Poor diet can also exaggerate hormonal changes leading to acne. A diet high in vegetable oils, sugar, caffeine and alcohol can be especially damaging. The worst culprit is vegetable oil, which is not only used in cooking but also appears in many junk foods and snacks such as chips, french fries, and cookies. Many processed foods and most soft drinks contain high and hidden levels of sugar. Sugar is so addictive that if you eat a lot in processed foods you will want more and more of similar foods.
As a final step with home treatment, to ensure that the pores do not remain open, you can rub your skin down with an ice cube or splash cold water on your face. Using a home made face pack will also help in tightening the pores and giving your skin an even look. For this mix some rose water in cucumber pulp and a little gram flour to make a smooth paste and apply on your face and neck; leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash off with cold water. For a dry skin a table spoon of full cream milk powder added to this will give a moisturizing effect too. Be innovative and experiment with fruits and other ingredients at home and you may come up with your own unique face pack that suits you better than any that is sold over the counter.
Sometimes when the body reacts to drugs taken, it shows in the form of an outbreak of Acne. This is why the use of narcotics can result in an outbreak and why drug addicts will usually have pimples on their skin.
